- Dec 6, 2011 – Automated Content Migration Cuts Costs, Improves Data Quality and Expedites Web Projects.
San Francisco and Palo Alto, CA– Kapow Software and Sitecore have partnered to make migrating legacy digital assets faster, without business disruptions or content freezes. With the Kapow Katalyst Application Integration Platform, any combination of legacy content can be systematically transformed, formatted and migrated into Sitecore’s Web Content Management System (CMS).
Manual content migration requires a significant amount of time and resources and can inhibit productivity. Customers can now automate the migration of content from multiple content management applications into Sitecore’s Web CMS using the Kapow Katalyst Application Integration Platform.
According to Beau Brewer, director of alliances for Siteworx, Inc., a leading interactive agency and Web content management consultancy, “Migration can be one of the biggest challenges of a Web CMS project. By facilitating the extraction of content from extremely varied sources and enabling iterative improvements in the migration process without requiring business interruptions, Kapow helps ensure that customers migrate fresh content, significantly accelerating their Sitecore implementation. We’ve done dozens of Sitecore implementations and have seen this work really well.”
The Sitecore and Kapow Software integration provides access to content templates, ensuring that content is rapidly and accurately migrated. The Kapow Katalyst Platform extracts content and metadata from existing websites, unstructured files, databases, and other sources. Katalyst then applies business rules to transform and map source content to Sitecore’s content templates, loading directly into Sitecore’s CMS.
“Having the right content at the right time in the right place is critical to any business,” said Rory Byrne, vice president of business development, Kapow Software. “Migrating legacy Web content presents many challenges, as migration scripts and manual processes reduce accuracy and stretch project timelines. By integrating with Sitecore CMS, the Kapow Katalyst platform can extract, transform, and migrate data and metadata from any content management system automatically, and load it into Sitecore in a fraction of the time and cost.”
“For years there have been debates over manually migrating content into a new CMS or automating the process,” said Darren Guarnaccia, senior vice president, product marketing, Sitecore. “By working with Kapow Software we can now show our customers the value in automating the content migration process and their results including cost savings of over 70% are clearly the proof.”
